Quote of the Moment – On Expository Preaching

Timmy Brister gave a comment at Said at Southern that just about knocked my socks off. It is a comment that very clearly explains one of the reasons why I began a sermon series on the book of Romans last fall. The comment can be found here. Here’s the bit that had me saying “amen” several times over:

Expository preaching works if you are going to plant your life there in that church, and give them God’s Word for the next four decades (as John MacArthur, for example, has). It does not work if you want quick and immediate results.
